Αμλέτος
Ιάκωβος Πολυλάς, 1890
Polylas's 19th-century Greek verse Hamlet, the translation that gave the play its Greek voice, plus his own essay on why the prince cannot act.
Polylas, born in Corfu in 1825, was a poet, a fighter in the 1848 uprising and the first editor of Solomos's manuscripts, which he salvaged and published.
